Meteors Attack! is a free arcade mobile video game wherein you get to actually play as a meteor headed straight for Earth. Developed by Lion Studios, this 3D space game offers easy controls—in which you hurl deadly meteors at the planet to try and destroy as much of the planet’s properties as possible. However, while the game is a simple one—with new meteors eventually being unlocked the more you play—the gameplay is highly repetitive.

Come down to Earth

In Meteors Attack!, you need to move your finger on the screen to control the path of your meteor. Some space debris will be in your way as you come closer to Earth; collect them to make the eventual impact stronger. The last brief phase of the level is the meteor targeting a random area. You can still adjust its trajectory to cause as much damage to as many buildings.

You can use the coins you earn to upgrade the four core strengths of your meteor: Impact for a more powerful blast, Gravity for tighter controls, Debris for a wider vacuum on the asteroids you have to collect, and Coins for more earnings from gold glowing debris. These scale in price the more you level them up. Additionally, you can customize your meteor’s orbitals and trails—although you have to spin for these to get them.

There are a set number of levels to get through before you can finally destroy a planet and move on to the next one. However, while the gameplay’s challenge lies in controlling the meteor right, the real difficulty to be found here is getting through all of the ads. Clearing a level constantly offers ads for extra rewards, but getting sent back to the menu always plays an ad—making each level a hassle to load.

Take it easy with the ads

All in all, despite the cute 3D graphics in Meteors Attack!, things can get tedious pretty quickly. There are customization options to spice things up for the repetitive gameplay. However, the numerous ads that keep playing for each level are tiresome and make this game even more boring after destroying a few planets. Not only that but the complete lack of any audio—whether background music or sound effects—really makes things awkward.
